About the VRMan3D Archive

Welcome to the VRMan3D Archive, a tribute to the pioneering 3D screensavers that captivated computer users in the late 1990s and early 2000s. VRMan, known as the “Virtual Reality Man,” earned his nickname in the 1980s for leading the way in developing real-time 3D virtual worlds for demonstrations and games.

Among his creations, the 3D Christmas Screensaver stood out as a festive favorite, downloaded over 4 million times. This screensaver was one of the earliest to utilize 3D acceleration, featuring ornaments that gracefully floated and attached themselves to a virtual Christmas tree, accompanied by optional holiday music and dynamic lighting effects.

Our mission is to preserve and share these digital artifacts, allowing both original fans and new users to experience the charm of VRMan’s creations. We provide access to the original screensaver files, along with guidance on running them on modern PCs.

Join us in celebrating the legacy of VRMan and the joy his screensavers continue to bring during the holiday season.
